The Timeless Appeal of Danish Cord Weaving
Danish cord weaving—also known as paper cord—has defined Scandinavian furniture since the 1940s with its strength, flexibility, and breathable comfort. At Caning Canada, we use FSC-certified Danish cord to restore icons like the Hans Wegner Wishbone, J.L. Møller Model 78, and Paysanne cloverleaf chairs using our signature no-nail technique for seamless, elegant finishes.
Danish Cord Colour Options
• Natural Paper Cord: Warm, unbleached tones for rustic authenticity.
• White Paper Cord: Clean, bright finish for modern interiors.
• Black Paper Cord: Bold contrast for dramatic, urban style.
Why Danish Cord?
• Durability: Supports 300+ lbs with ease—perfect for daily use.
• Comfort: Breathable and flexible for all-day seating.
• Low Maintenance: Vacuum or wipe clean—no special products needed.
• No-Nail Technique: Ideal for unobstructed frames like porch rockers and cloverleaf designs.

Whether replacing rawhide, splint, or old cane, we transform your cloverleaf into a functional heirloom.
